Though it’s wonderful that we’re willing to label everyone as “friends,” not knowing who or what constitutes a real friend is a major contributor to the widespread feeling of isolation and loneliness that permeates modern society.

We all have different definitions of what a friend is.

For some of us, a friend is someone we can confide in and trust completely. For others, a friend is someone we see every once in awhile to go out and have some fun with.

And for others still, a friend is simply someone we know and associate with.

But what is a true friend?

Friendship is one of the most important things in life.

We all need someone to rely on, someone to confide in, and someone to simply enjoy life with.

But in recent years, it seems like the concept of friendship has lost some of its luster. With social media and other technological advances, we often communicate with friends electronically rather than in person.

And as our lives become busier, we have less time to nurture our friendships. As a result, our perceptions of friendship have weakened.
